<< Back to Programme Listing

Medical Interchange is a collaborative group of UK Universities who have come together to partner with medical device companies and healthcare organisations to develop high quality Research, Development and Innovation projects.

Issues to be addressed in the discussion group include:

Sharing ideas:
* Experiences of collaboration between University, Industry (& 3rd parties)?
* Mechanisms that you can use / have used?
Cutltural issues:
* What encouragement is there for industry to explore ideas with the knowledge base?
* What encouragement is there for academia to engage with industry sooner?
* What actions can be taken to develop those processes?
* Does higher quality R&D collaborations always mean bigger budgets and longer time scales?
Practical issues: * Identifying the right person to contact? and engaging their interest? * Can you align the different drivers for industry and academia? - how do you work with different time scales? * Is Intellectual Property a barrier?
